Armor Glass solar security hurricane film replaces the need for heavy, ugly plywood and expensive shutters and comes in both Clear and Tint options to cut solar heat and deadly UV rays. It works 24/7 once it is in place on your windows –a marvel of high technology that began with the space age. Security film was first used in Northern Ireland in the 70’s to protect from flying glass from car bombs. Florida has also used it extensively.

Solar film (usually 2 mil or less) is not considered security film but security film can also be solar film. Solar film protects only from the sun but is useless in protecting from break-ins and hurricanes. Security film provides protection from intrusions by the sun, humans and mother nature’s fury. And unlike plywood, you don’t have to put-it-up-take-it-down, store it for bugs and rodents to nest in or figure out how to drag it up multiple stories.

Our security film is bonded to the frames with a special Dow 995 sealant on commercial applications. With this bonding and our 8 Mil hurricane film (which is also GSA 3a/3b explosion rated), none of the windows blown out of the Chase Tower building during Hurricane IKE would have blown out -- even if broken! Millions of dollars of internal damages and potential injuries on the streets below would have been avoided. Our film would keep people from being killed or injured by flying glass in an explosion.
